The awards are based industry based and occupational based, they can be found at
www.fwc.gov.au
To define the classification of an employee under an award you need to be aware of the role and what duties are carried out and do they need a qualification to be in that role.
The ordinary hours of duty of an employee must not exceed 38 per week and vary in each award
Check your award and ensure employees are correctly classified.
No as Superannuation is legislated differently from award rates of pay
Annual leave loading is payable to all award employees and it is currently 17.5% for most awards
Yes, they can and up to 2 weeks per year may be cashed out.
All time in lieu has to be recorded and agreed upon, time in lieu accumulates at 1 hour worked = 1.5 hour’s time in lieu in some awards and accumulates at a time for time in others.
